Slutman who was killed in action while serving with the US Marine Corps near Parwan province, Afghanistan on April 8, 2019. He was a member of the Fire Department of New York where he was assigned to 27 Truck and a Ladderman with the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department Co. 33. He is remembered as a dedicated marine, fireman, husband, and father. Members from Kentland wear these same shirts and run in honor of him and
