Antique Art Nouveau era French silver and amber cigarette holder. Comprising of a silver collar decorated in raised relief, portraying a woman framed by swirling cascades of hair. The motif is exquisitely crafted with the design typical of the Art Nouveau era. Bearing import hallmarks for Vienna Austria and stamped .800. The end piece mounted with a .800 silver tip enhanced in gold vermeil finish. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Finished with a tapered amber mouth piece. Housed in what is likely the original red velvet lined leather fitted case, the interior lid with gold label indicating Argent (silver). In overall good antique condition. Wear to the exterior of the leather case commensurate with age. Some shallow indentions to the end of the gold vermeil silver tip, as well as some shallow teeth marks to the mouth piece from use. The cigarette holder measures 2 7/8" length x 5/16" diameter opening aperture. Case measures 3 3/8" length x 1" wide
