When restitching his nose I was able to retrace the original pattern of his nose and mouth as the holes in the fabric were clear from where they had once been

and is 5-ways jointed with long bent arms

good nose stitching and lovely big pointy feet

He is kapok filled and has longish legs with long feet and original cotton pads with claws to pads only

He has his original glass eyes

A large early Steiff Teddy Bear circa 1910, with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, hump and inoperative growler and letter of provenance from the second owner 28in. (71cm.) high (tear across nose) damaged and repaired ankles, thinning to top of head and general wear)
