Acer palmatum 'Ryuzu' Japanese Maple Late The rugose leaves change toA sturdy dwarf cultivar long in production, the name meaning "Ornamental Dragon's Head". This tree has very short internodes covering the stiff upright branches with medium sized leaves. The sharply pointed lobes seem to twist at the tips. Spring is a shrimp pink color changing to light green in summer and orange yellow in the fall. Some belief 'Ryuzu' to be the parent tree of 'Shishigashira'. Excellent for either bonsai, container or a rock garden.
