The Port Ellen distillery was closed in 1983 and has since become one of the world's most sought after whiskies for drinkers and collectors. Distilled in 1979, matured for 37 years in refill American oak hogsheads and butts and bottled in 2017. Only 2,988 bottles were produced (and this is bottle number 2,988!). Bottled at a natural cask strength of 51%.
